 dean alexanderMr. Dean Alexander was born July 28th, 1927 in Sharpsville to Walter and Margaret Miller Alexander. He was a 1945 alumnus of Sharpsville High School and he attended Westminster College and the University of Pittsburgh where he earned a B.S. in civil Engineering in 1950.


Dr. Floyd A. Holstein DDS, 81, of 416 S. Ninth St. Sharpsville,

formerly of Aliquippa, passed away Nov. 25, 2011 at Sharon

Regional Hospital. He was born March 21, 1930 in Pittsburgh,

PA. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Marvel Holstein,

wife, Isabel (Colonna) and son Dr. Lee Holstein, Colonel US. Airforce.



John "Jabby" Ellison of Sharpsville, passed away after a brief illness

on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 6:15 a.m. in Sharon Regional Hospital surrounded by family.

He was 82. Born March 29, 1929 in New Castle, PA, Jabby was a son of Emmett "Lefty" and

Helen Bolton Ellison. He was a beloved husband of 54 years to Carole (Wilting) Ellison; loving

father of John, husband of Sherry, Palm Desert, CA; Tamara, wife of Dr. James Bonanni;

Richard, husband of Tracy; Mathew, husband of Gina; Brian, husband of Lori; Tracy, wife

of Jose Siguenza, all of Sharpsville; proud grandfather of Christina Ellison, John, Joseph and

Sara Bonanni, Amanda, wife of Randy Auman, Katie, Karly, Maria, Mathew, Michael and Brian II Ellison,

Joseph, Annie, Nicholas and Maxwell Siguenza and great-granddaughter Kendall Auman.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, June Freedle and brother, Charles (Chow) Ellison.

Sharpsville man was  labor leader, coach
Thomas E. Findley, 23 S. Third St., Sharpsville, died at 8:37 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2009, in his residence after an extended illness. He was 55.
findleyMr. Findley was born Oct. 2, 1953, in Grove City, to Thomas F. and Norma J. (Jennings) Findley.
A 1972 graduate of Sharpsville High School, he worked as a labor leader for Sharon Steel Corp. for 20 years, until 1997.
Mr. Findley was a member of Sharpsville United Methodist Church, Sharpsville American Legion and Masonic Lodge 517.
He enjoyed working with the youth of the Shenango Valley, including 40 years with Sharpsville Little League and as a head coach for the Sharpsville Midget Football League. He also enjoyed his dog, Chloe.
Mr. Findley is survived by his wife, the former Valerie M. Herrmann, whom he married June 16, 1979; a daughter, Heather M. Findley; and two sons, Thomas H. Findley and Timothy E. Findley, all at home.
